According to media reports, Aftab dated a clinical psychologist after Shraddha's murder. It is being said that the woman met Aftab on the dating app Bumble in June-July. The same app through which Shraddha and Aftab met. The woman then allegedly went to meet Aftab in the same flat where Shraddha was killed.

The woman says that when she saw the news of Shraddha's murder and Aftab's arrest, she was in shock. He said that he has no information about Shraddha. She met Aftab through the app and the two talked for months. In October, the woman went to Aftab's house and then Aftab gave her perfume and some other items as well. The woman says she stayed at the house for a few hours but didn't find anything suspicious. She went to Aftab's house only twice."

Police have recorded the statement of the woman under section 161 of CrPC and now accused Aftab will be questioned in this regard. Earlier, the police had come to know in the investigation that soon after the murder of Shraddha, Aftab had installed the dating app in his phone. Police suspect that the accused was allegedly trying to destroy evidence when the woman went to the flat.
