 माँ कात्यायनी नवरात्रि व्रत कथा (Katyayani Navratri Vrat Story)

पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार जब महर्षि कात्यायन ने मां नवदुर्गा की घोर तपस्या की थी। तब माता उनकी तपस्या से प्रसन्न हुई और उनके घर उनकी पुत्री के रूप में जन्म लिया। देवी दुर्गा का जन्म महर्षि कात्यायन के आश्रम में हुआ था। माता का लालन-पालन ऋषि कात्यायन ने किया था।

आश्विन मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की चतुर्थी को देवी दुर्गा का जन्म ऋषि कात्यायन के यहाँ हुआ था। मां के जन्म के बाद ऋषि कात्यायन ने भी अपनी बेटी मां दुर्गा की 3 दिनों तक पूजा की। तीन दिनों तक ऋषि की पूजा स्वीकार करने के बाद, देवी ने ऋषि से विदा ली। महिषासुर राक्षस के बढ़ते अत्याचार के कारण, माँ कात्यायनी ने महिषासुर को युद्ध में चुनौती दी और उनका अंत कर दिया, इसलिए उन्हें महिषासुर मर्दानी भी कहा जाता है।

 देवी कात्यायनी की पूजा (Worship of Goddess Katyayani)

देवी कात्यायनी को ब्रजभूमि की अधिष्ठात्री देवी के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। मां कात्यायनी को मधु पान बहुत प्रिय है। उन्हें प्रसाद के रूप में फल और मिठाई के साथ शहद युक्त पान का भोग लगाना चाहिए।

माता कात्यायनी चतुर्भुज हैं, जिसमें उनके एक हाथ में शत्रुओं को मारने के लिए तलवार और दूसरे हाथ में एक फूल है, जो भक्तों के प्रति उनके स्नेह को दर्शाता है। तीसरी भुजा अभय मुद्रा में है जो भक्तों को भय से मुक्ति दिला रही है। चौथा हाथ भक्तों को भक्ति का वरदान देने के लिए देवी की वराह मुद्रा में है।

Mother Katyayani Navratri Vrat Story

According to the legend, when Maharishi Katyayan did severe penance for Mother Navdurga. Then the mother was pleased with his penance and took birth in his house as his daughter. Goddess Durga was born in the ashram of Maharishi Katyayan. The mother was brought up by sage Katyayan.

Goddess Durga was born to sage Katyayan on the Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. After the birth of the mother, sage Katyayan also worshiped his daughter Maa Durga for 3 days. After accepting the worship of the sage for three days, the goddess bid farewell to the sage. Due to the increasing tyranny of the demon Mahishasura, Maa Katyayani challenged and put an end to Mahishasura in battle, hence she is also called Mahishasura Mardani.

 Worship of Goddess Katyayani

Goddess Katyayani is also known as the presiding deity of Brajbhoomi. Maa Katyayani loves honey very much. They should offer betel leaf containing honey along with fruits and sweets as prasad.

 Form of Goddess Katyayani:

Mata Katyayani is a quadrilateral, holding a sword to kill enemies in one hand and a flower in the other, signifying her affection for the devotees. The third arm is in Abhaya Mudra, which is liberating the devotees from fear. The fourth hand is in the Varaha Mudra of the Goddess to bestow the boon of devotion to the devotees.
