Screenshots of her tweets have since gone viral online with members of the Tamil film industry sharing their hope for an Oscar nod, if not the big win. Back in January, 'Jai Bhim', starring Suriya in the lead and directed by TJ Gnanavel, featured on the Academy's list of the 276 films eligible for the 94th Academy Awards.
'Jai Bhim' was among the many films that featured on the list of films in the running for Best Picture. Apart from this, the Mohanlal-starrer 'Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham', also made the cut.
"Mother India, Salaam Bombay and Lagaan are the Indian movies to have made it to the top five in the Best International Feature category at #Oscars. Hope #JaiBhim will be 4th Movie to enter the Category! Fingers Crossed," a fan said on Twitter.
